A very good question, to be fair. Well, I guess the main answer is because acupuncture needles work! Acupuncture has been around for thousands of years, but a more recent addition to healthcare in the western world.

At Cherryblossom Acupuncture, I’ve been practicing Acupuncture and using Chinese Herbal Medicine for years but the results I see for my clients continue to amaze me. Because people experience great results with Acupuncture, it’s popularity has grown and grown. Today, we will talk about acupuncture needles.

Acupuncture is widely known for its effectiveness in the treatment of pain. Its unique role in reducing suffering in patients experiencing pain is one of the main reasons it has become so popular around the world. Nearly one in five surveyed Europeans indicated they have moderate or severe chronic pain. The most common being low back pain, neck pain, and severe headache or migraine pain.

In my practice, treating and helping people with painful conditions is a source of great satisfaction. What many people don’t realise is exactly how quickly Acupuncture can work for pain, and that leaving the clinic without the pain you walked in with is totally possible.

I also have great success with treating Women’s Health. I treat women with PMS, Painful periods, PCOS, those undergoing IVF treatment and Fertility issues.

When people ask about Acupuncture, the biggest questions are ;

Do the acupuncture needles Hurt?

We use super fine needles and some Acupuncture needles are as a fine as a human hair. You will feel the acupuncture needles going in, although some people don’t, and once they are in many people fall asleep. The whole process is usually very relaxing. I’ve definitely had people snoring in my treatment room! Who doesn’t need to take a little time out to relax?

How many sessions does it take?

This all depends on the condition you are coming for treatment for. But once per week for Women’s Health and twice per week for acute pain, would be normal. As the condition improves less treatments are required.

Also – check your Health Insurance Policy!  Many Health Insurers reimburse for a number of sessions of Acupuncture, so you may well be covered for your sessions!
